"Stitches in Time" - 2010 Mother-Child Retreat - March 26-27

Mothers and one child (age 4-12) are invited to make some "Stitches in Time" out at camp during this special overnight retreat designed just for them!  The retreat will include group games, a campfire, singing, snacks, recreation time, Bible study, craft projects, free time, and more!  Don't miss out on this opportunity for fellowship time for mothers, new friends for children, and free time to enjoy together!
Our theme for the weekend will be "Stitches in Time."  We'll enjoy various projects involving fabric - dying, fleecing, and sewing - as we learn about this traditional skill for mothers to pass on to their children.  Our focus will also look at stories of biblical heroes connected to cloth, including Joseph's multicolored coat from the Old Testament and Lydia, a deal of purple cloth, from the New Testament, who help us learn more about "Living Like Jesus."

We'll begin on Friday, March 26th at around 6pm and finish up on Saturday, March 27th at around 3pm.  There will be supper served on Friday evening along with breakfast and lunch the next day.  We'll also have a snack (s'mores and banana boats!) around the campfire on Friday night!  Lodging will be in the winterized Woodland Retreat Center.  All for this just $70 per pair!  Don't delay - sign up today!
To register, send a completed registration form and a check for $70 (made out to Brethren Woods) to the camp office at 4896 Armentrout Path, Keezletown, VA 22832.  Click here for a registration form!  Feel free to contact us at 540-269-2741 or camp@brethrenwoods.org if you have any questions or concerns.  Registrations are due by Wednesday, March 17th!

Kids enjoy making new friends and playing together!

Banana boats and s'mores make for great
snacks over the campfire!
On Sunday morning, mother-child pairs
worked together to make fish mobiles.

Good old fashioned board games, spending
time together, and a cup of something hot!
This is the life!
An exciting feature of the retreat was an optional hike along the Falls in Fridley Gap!  Every pair came along on this amazing adventure!

We packed lunches to take along and enjoy on the rocks beside the stream.

After lunch we played on the rocks and a few brave folks went wading!  Burrrrrrr!!!

A mother-child pair enjoys canoeing together on the camp lake!

Full boats and new friends make for a fun
close to our weekend at camp!
